KENYA/KANU CASE

The Kenyan government has denied involvement in the re-arrest of the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, nnamdi kanu.

Kenyan high commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Wilfred Machage, stated this in Abuja, saying the government do not want to be dragged into Nigeria’s internal affairs.

Meanwhile, Kanu’s brother had claimed that the IPOB leader was re-arrested in Kenya and since the extradition of the secessionist to Nigeria, there had been a lot of speculations over where he was picked up.

Reacting, Kenyan high commissioner to Nigeria warned that no individual or group should ridiculously attempt to drag the name of Kenya and its president, Uhuru Kenyatta to the matter.

NLC/TCN

The Nigeria labour congress, NLC has faulted the alleged planned sale of the transmission company of Nigeria, TCN.

There had been speculations on the attempt to sale out the transmission company butthe NLC president, Ayuba Wabba, in reaction to this in a statement titled, this kite will not fly in Abuja condemned the plan.

He said neither congress nor the sectorial affiliate union was officially contacted or even informally consulted on the alleged plan.

The congress added that the NLC condemned with vigor the continued stripping and stealing of Nigeria’s economic assets, saying the attempt to hand over the TCN to a few privileged Nigerians was self-serving, morally reprehensible and criminal.

ONDO ASSEMBLY

The Ondo state house of assembly has passed into law, a bill to regulate security, rearing and grazing of livestock and establishment of ranches.

Chairman house committee on agriculture, Hon Taofeek Oladele while presenting the report on grazing bill observed that the bill when passed into law will prevent destruction of farm crops in the state.

Oladele added that it will address clashes between herders and farmers, enhance the growth of livestock farming, prevent control and manage the spread of diseases as well encourage modern techniques of animal husbandry.

After a thorough debate on the bill by the lawmakers, speaker of the house, right hon. Bamidele oleyelogun ruled in favour of the bill after a voice vote as well as other lawmakers.

IGBOHO/RALLY

The Nigeria police has begun show of force amid tension over Yoruba nation Lagos rally scheduled to hold tomorrow.

Report said the police in Lagos state embarked on the show of force to prove they are battle ready for Yoruba agitator, sunday Adeyemo, also known as sunday Igboho and his cohorts.

Information has it that tension is high in some parts of the state over the attack on the Ibadan home of the Yoruba nation agitator by Nigerian forces as well as the planned Yoruba nation rally on Saturday, july 3.

Meanwhile, secessionist organizations have vowed to go ahead with the gathering despite the ban announced by the police but the police again threatened to deal with whoever flaunts its order.

IPOB LEADER/FG WARNING

The federal government has threatened to go after highly-placed Nigerians and other collaborators of the independent people of Biafra leader, Nnamdi kanu.

The minister of information and culture, lai Mohammed, who stated this at a press briefing in Abuja, said irrespective of the collaborators’ standing in the country, they would all face the full wrath of the law for challenging the nation’s sovereignty.

Mohammed gave the threat as the lead counsel to the IPOB leader, Aloy ejimakor, in an interview disclosed that he had written the British high commission to lodge complain on kanu’s arrest and extradition.

Ejimakor also lamented that despite writing the department of state services, DSS, he had not been allowed access to the IPOB leader.

Kanu, who is facing trial for treasonable felony, was said to have jumped bail in 2017 and fled the country for the UK when soldiers stormed his parents’ residence at afaraukwu, Abia state.
