Zamfara state governor, bello matawalle has advised president muhammadu buhari to declare state of emergency on security in the northern part of the country.
Governor matawalle gave the advice while addressing police personnel posted to the state by the aig in charge of sokoto, kebbi and zamfara states, saying the whole area was under attacks by bandits as the attack on the nigerian defence academy had revealed that no place was safe in the entire northern region.
The governor who accused some politicians of fuelling the insecurity for political gains, noted that rural areas are now inaccessible as a result of bandits attack.
The jigawa state government has declared friday, august 27 as holiday in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the creation of the state.
In a statement signed by the state head of civil service, alhaji ali kila, governor muhammad abubakar congratulated the civil servants and the entire people for the thirty-year anniversary of the state.
Governor abubakar who enjoined the people to pray for the state and the country at large during the celebration appealed to all pubic servants and the entire people of the state to utilize the one day break in appreciating the almighty allah for conducive atmosphere, peaceful co-existence and various developmental projects so far recorded in the state.
Kaduna state government has announced the evacuation of its indigenes who are students of the university of jos and other tertiary institutions in plateau state due to the escalation of killings in jos, the state capital.
Kaduna state scholarship and loans board executive secretary, malam hassan rilwan made the announcement, saying the evacuation which was concluded last weekend followed the state government’s directives that all students of kaduna state trapped should be evacuated in view of the security situation in the state.
Rilwan also recalled that 87 students which were evacuated on august 20, 2021, by security agencies under the supervision of the board, had been reunited with their families.
The executive secretary therefore assured citizens of the government’s commitment to securing the lives of the state’s students in plateau state and elsewhere.
