President muhammadu buhari has vowed that nigerians involved in the misappropriation of 6 trillion naira pumped into the niger delta development commission, nddc would be made to spit out the missing funds.
President buhari made the pledge while he received the forensic audit report carried out on the commission through the attorney general of the federation, agf and minister of justice, abubakar malami.
While lamenting that over 13.7 projects awarded by those at the helms of the niger delta affairs were abandoned, he said no one indicted for shady deals in the nddc would be spared no matter how highly placed.
The president therefore ordered that the report be made available to the federal ministry of justice for legal advice, which would pave way for the prosecution of the indicted people.
Stakeholders, comprising chairmen of political parties, traditional rulers and some representatives of law enforcement agencies in kajuru, local government area of kaduna state have agreed to conduct and vote peacefully, in the forth coming saturday, september 4 elections in the 23 local government areas of the state.
In a joint statement signed by kajuru head office representative, benjamin yunana, pdp representative, hon. Francis kwasau and apc representative, hon. Nuradeen tijjani which was issued to newsmen, revealed that all residents of the local government area agreed to promote peaceful coexistence before, during and after the conduct of the election.
It further stated that all political parties in the forth coming local government election agreed to accept the outcome of the election.
Former nigeria vice-president, atiku abubakar has condemned the abduction of students of government secondary schools in kaya, zamfara state.
Zamfara state police public relations officer, mohammed shehu had confirmed in a statement on september 1 that a large number of bandits attacked a secondary school in kaya, maradun local government area of the state and abducted 73 students, suggesting that preemptive actions should be taken as the fear that education in the already disadvantaged regions may suffer irreversible losses.
Reacting on his official social media page, atiku expressed sadness over the reports of yet another abduction of students in the state, advising that it is now time to have a school protection standby unit deployed exclusively to protect schools in areas prone to attacks.
