The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA Oyo State chapter, has enjoined Nigerians to abstain from all vices that may jeopardize existence of the country.
NSCIA state chairman, Alhaji Dapo Yusuf, made the plea in a statement issued to newsmen, urging leaders to always be at the forefront of issues that would unite the country and not the ones that would divide it.
Alhaji Yusuf also enjoined Muslims to uphold the spirit of self-sacrifice and use the period of Eld-el-Kabir to pray for lasting peace in the state and the country at large.
The NSCIA chairman further charged the general public to live up to the noble teachings of the religion of submission of oneself to the will of God.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, will not allow protocol officers and orderlies of dignitaries into airports during the Eid-el-Kabir period except they are travelling alongside their principals.
FAAN made the disclosure in statement made available to the press by its general manager, corporate affairs, Henrietta Yakubu.
Yakubu hinted that the airport security architecture has been strengthened while measures have been put in place in respect to covid-19 protocols laid down by government.
While imploring intending passengers to make early preparations towards completing their travel requirements in good time, the authority re-emphasized that only travelling passengers will be allowed into the airports.
The Nigerian Air Force, NAF,has confirmed the crash of an alpha jet in Zamfara State.
NAF’sdirector of information, air commodore Edward Gabkwet, told newsmen that the alpha jet aircraft was returning from a successful air interdiction mission between the boundaries of Zamfara and Kaduna state when it came under intense enemy fire, which led to its crash.
Gabkwet confirmed that pilot of the aircraft, flight lieutenant Abayomi Dairo, successfully eluded several bandits’ strongholds and sought refuge in nearby Nigerian army unit settlements.
Despite the setback, the air commodore however expressed the force’s readiness to remain unshaken as it continues to carry out its assigned roles.
