Despite calls for secession, former president olusegun obasanjo has reaffirmed that nigeria will continue to exist as a nation.
The former president stated this in a statement to newsmen in lagos, noted that some forces do not want to see the country’s continued co-existence.
Obasanjo who, acknowledge that those working against the peace of the country will continue to fail, added that the cost of staying together as a nation is cheaper than the cost of dividing nigeria.
The elder statesman insisted that those he described as enemies who do not want to see the nation’s continued co-existence would fail, promised to continue to work for the peace and progress of a nigeria that is united.
The osun sector command of the federal roads safety commission, frsc will commence a week-long statewide enforcement of the new number plate regime from monday, august 30, 2021.
State sector public education officer, agnes ogungbemi, made the disclosure in a statement made available to newsmen, explaining that the directive was informed by the observance by the frsc management of the increase in the number of vehicles using invalid and unregistered number plates as well as continuous use of old government number plates by private vehicle owners in the country.
The sector spokesperson also revealed that some people produce fake number plates in green colour to appear as if they are for government vehicles to evade security checks and other possible privileges.
Governor bello matawalle of zamfara state has announced new measures aimed at curtailing the growing activities of bandits in the state.
Governor matawalle made the announcement in a televised briefing, saying all filling stations in the state are banned from selling fuel of more than 10 thousand naira to a single customer, while the sale of fuel in jerry cans is disallowed in all filling stations.
He reiterated the ban on more than two persons riding a motorcycle and warned that those who break the law stand the risk of being shot at by security operatives.
The governor, who called on all citizens in the state to observe the rules to avoid unfortunate incidents as the security operatives will be empowered to treat offenders as suspected bandits, added a committee will be constituted to ensure compliance.
