Odun Oba has been described as a festival that brings about peace and togetherness in Ondo kingdom.
The Sagbo of Ondo kingdom, Chief Bayo Fagun, gave the description while fielding questions from EKI FM’s reporter at the palace of the Osemawe and paramount ruler of the kingdom, his imperial majesty Oba Dr. Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo, Jilo the third, CFR.
While speaking, Chief Fagun stressed that the celebration remains one of the best events that brings Ondo indigenes both home and abroad to pay homage to the king.
On their parts, the Lekihan of Odosida, Chief Akinkoye Timothy, and the Akunnara of Ondo kingdom, Olaniyan Olarewaju, lauded the monarch for his kind gesture, noting that his reign has brought peace and unity to the kingdom in the past years.
They however advised youths of the kingdom as well as the elders to continue the good deeds and allow peace reign in the kingdom as well as in Nigeria at large.
Report says bandits have kidnapped the Emir of Kajuru and 13 of his family members, including two of his grandchildren, in a late-night attack in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state.
It was gathered that the bandits numbering over 200 stormed the emirate, firing gunshots, before proceeding to the 85-year-old Emir’s palace and abducting him and 13 members of his family, comprising three women, two of his grandchildren, three of his aides and five others.
Confirming the incident, Spokesman of Kaduna state police command, Mohammed Jalige, assured that a combined team of operatives have launched a manhunt for the kidnappers, with a view to rescuing the victims and arresting the criminals.
The recent development comes just six days after the abduction of 121 students of bethel Baptist school in neighbouring Chikun local government area of the state.

Residents of the country both home and in the diaspora took to various online and offline platforms to voice their displeasure for the President’s actions.
One of them, who is a key social media influencer̀, Onjezani Kenani, lamented that President Chakwera’s administration is proving to be worse than that of his Predecessor, Peter Mutharika, who he said never appointed his son or daughter to any taxpayer funded position.
However, the state house defended the president’s appointments, noting that everyone who has been given a job was considered for positions based on their qualifications.
